Story

On September 3, 2025, just a week after her 15th birthday, Alana VanMeter passed suddenly of a pulmonary embolism. Three days prior to her passing she asked her mother what her mother would do if she passed suddenly. Through tears, her mother told her that she would start a scholarship fund in her honor. Alana’s Wings of Hope is that final promise between a mother and daughter. Initially, it started as a scholarship fund to honor students that carry similar attributes to Alana. Through their journey of grief her parents realized the importance of supporting the community that supported them. Through donations to the community and other families impacted by tragic losses; Alana’s Wings of Hope inspires to build hope and light in the darkest moments of life. For when there is no hope, despair thrives.
